Abstract

A refractory resistant to temperatures equal to or higher than 2,000 DEG C., is obtained by fusing at 2,200-2,700 DEG C. a mixture of zirconia and lime, the latter being in the proportion molecularly of from 30 per cent. to 70 per cent., and being able to be wholly or partially replaced by strontia, baryta, magnesia or glucina.
