Abstract

A sparking-plug insulator comprises a ceramic body having at least 85 per cent by weight of zirconia or titania, together with either titania, aluminia and magnesia, or zirconia and magnesia, respectively. The body is fired at a temperature to vitrify it, and long enough for it to have a hardness of 9 Moh when cool. Specification 585,217 is referred to.
