[Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVI] Relates to pulse radar systems in which the responses are displayed by intensity modulation on a cathode-ray tube having a rotating time base, e.g. P.P.I. display. According to the invention, the reduced brilliance at the periphery of the tube due to the spreading out, of the traces with increasing radius is compensated by increasing the brilliance level with increasing range by integrating the squarewave output from a multivibrator synchronised with the time base to produce a saw-tooth superimposed on a square wave which is then applied to the cathode of the tube, the video signals being applied to the grid.
