Abstract
593,761. Induction motors. WOODS OF COLCHESTER, Ltd., and DALY, B. B. April 25, 1945, No. 10394. [Class 35] A capacitor fan motor has its condenser 6 mounted on the end shield 2 of the motor frame in a closed sheet metal casing 3, 4, an air space being provided between the closure 4 and the motor endshield. The casing which is lined with sheet insulation 5 and filled with compound 7 has a lip 10 for securing to the motor endshield by screws 11. The condenser may be connected by flexible leads 8 and bushings 9, as shown, or by spring contacts. The endshield 2 and closure plate 4 may be coated with reflecting material, e.g. aluminium paint to prevent transfer of heat. An alternative method of securing the condenser casing is also shown.
