Abstract

A polymeric vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon, low molecular weight (10,000-15,000) polymeric aliphatic mono olefine, high molecular weight (60,000-120,000) polymeric aliphatic monoolefine and cyclised rubber are hot milled together then cooled and cold milled. Vinyl aromatic hydrocarbons specified are styrene, para methyl styrene, vinyl naphthalene and styrene/alpha methyl para methyl styrene; and as mono olefines are specified ethylene, butylene, propylene, amylene, hdexylene, heptylene, octylene, nonylene and decylene in any of the isomeric forms. Ceresin or paraffin wax and fillers such as talc and special clays may be added.ALSO:A polymeric vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon, low molecular weight (10,000-15,000) polymeric aliphatic monoolefin, a high molecular weight (60,000-120,000) polymeric aliphatic monoolefin and cyclised rubber are hot milled together, then cooled and cold milled. Polymers specified are those from styrene, para methyl styrene, vinyl naphthalene, styrene/alpha methyl para methyl styrene, ethylene, butylene, propylene amylene, hexylene, heptylene, octylene, nonylene and decylene the monoolefins being in any isomeric form. Ceresine or paraffin wax, fillers such as talc or special clays may be added.
