Abstract
591,728. Extensible screens. BRISTOL TRAMWAYS & CARRIAGE CO., Ltd., and MORGAN, W. L. April 18, 1945, No. 9758. [Class 20 (iii)] [Also in Group XIII] Means for securing an extensible screen in different positions over a mounting comprise a number of loops or sockets so arranged on each side of the mounting along. which the screen is extensible that openings of the loops or sockets on one side of the mounting face those on the opposite side, a securing member attached at or near one end of the screen so as to project from each side thereof and around which the screen may be rolled, and having an overall length greater than the distance between the loops or sockets, the securing member being resiliently contractible for insertion of the ends into the loops or sockets, and means for securing the other end of the screen directly to the mounting. As applied to a motor vehicle radiator a screen 15 stitched round cross bar 16 attached to the radiator has its top end folded round a spring steel strip 18 which, after having wrapped round a length of screen is bowed, and its ends inserted in the sockets 10, 11, 12, 13, on the mounting 14, the strip being of length to engage the ends of these sockets.
