[Class 6 (i)] Rollers for consolidating earth or other material are provided with feet 4 made of flat strips bent into a U-shape and welded at intervals around the rolling surface 1, the feet having detachable shoes 5. The front wall of each foot is straight and connected by a flat web to the curved back wall, with a radius between the front wall and the web. A recess is provided in the shoe to engage with the web of the foot and prevent rotation on a bolt 6, which secures the shoe to the foot. The back of the shoe 5 forms a continuous curve with the back of the foot so that in operation as the shoe withdraws from the depression it has made the surface of the soil is not disturbed.
