Abstract

590,719. Wrapping cigars. WINGFOOT CORPORATION. March 14, 1945, No. 6424. Convention date, Aug. 18, 1944. [Class 94 (i)] A wrapper for a cigar comprises a tube of moisture-proof material, whose periphery is substantially greater than that of the portion of the cigar of greatest cross-section, the excess material being drawn together and folded over to draw the remainder into close contact with the cigar. The edges of the wrapper 1, Figs. 1 and 3, are drawn together around the cigar 2 and sealed by heat, as by heating-irons 7, 8, or by adhesive and then folded against the portion 6 of the wrapper, thereby drawing the wrapper into close contact with the cigar, and may be lightly sealed to the portion 6. Alternatively, the folding over may be done before sealing, and one sealing operation performed to seal the two edges firmly and join them lightly to the portion 6. The ends of the tube which extend beyond the ends of the cigar are also folded over and may be lightly sealed.
