[Class 40 (i)] In a remote supervision system, particularly concerned with electrical power networks, in which a slave relay adjacent to the supervisory equipment follows the movements of its associated switch, an immediate visual or audible indication is given, if, for any reason, it fails .so to do, by arranging that the circuits for the controlled relay and for the indicating arrangement are completed over contacts of the controlling device and changeover contacts of the relay. As shown, a circuit-breaker AC1 controls a relay M of the type which remains in the position to which it was last set, e.g. as described in Specification 515,529, [Group XXXVII]. Relay M on operating interrupts its energizing circuit and lights a lamp to show the condition of the circuit-breaker. When the positions of the circuit-breaker and the relay are not in agreement, a further relay A, common to several such systems operates a bell. In another arrangement, Fig. 1 (not shown), in which no audible alarm is given, the lamps are controlled over the same contacts as the relay so that when the positions of the latter does not agree with that of the circuitbreaker, both lamps are extinguished.
