[Class 20 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] A tubular rung b is secured in the side a of a metal ladder by projecting rib c and a flange d. If the ladder side is thin, e.g., of channel section, a dished metal pressing may be secured to it to increase the length of bearing for the rung. The rib c may be produced by upsetting the rung under axial pressure or by rolling. Specification 384,935 is referred to.
