[Class 17 (ii)] The metatarsal arch-supporting elevation 11 of a foot arch support 5, particularly for use by heavy persons, is reinforced by means 12 which extend on both sides of the elevation. The reinforcement which may be of stainless steel, aluminium or magnesium alloy or other metal conforms to the curvature of the support 5 and is of Y shape with limbs transversely curved in cross-section except at the ends which are secured by rivets to the support 5 at the heads of the first and fifth metatarsals and adjacent the os calcis of the foot.
