586,389. Photographic bleach-out processes. POLGAR, A.; and HALMOS. C. Dec. 1, 1939, No. 31297. Convention date, Dec. 3, 1938. [Class 98 (ii)] A bleach-out layer containing no silver halide and sensitized by means of thiourea derivatives which are polysubstituted and which contain at least one unsaturated group, contains an organic compound of one of the general formula in which X is O or S, and R1, R2, R3 are hydrogen, halogen, monovalent groups, e.g. alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, 'or amino, such compound not being a sensitizer. The compounds may be amides, acylamides, imides, carbamides, thiocarbamides, amidines, guanidines, hydrazides, hydrazidines, acylhydroxamic acids, or aminoethers, or various heterocyclic compounds, or their derivatives or salts. Hygroscopic acid amides, such as acetamide, are preferable. A separate hydroscopic agent, such as glycerol, may be added. Other examples of suitable compounds are thiourea, monochloracetamide, oxamide, propionylhydrazide, ethylamidine hydrochloride, and succinimide.
