Abstract

586,338. Spinning-machines. BULMER & LUMB, Ltd., and KENNEDY, R. J. Oct. 28, 1944, No. 21067. [Class 120 (ii)] Threads in a spinning or like frame are illuminated, to facilitate observation of broken ends, by a light source L located at or near one or both ends of the frame K, projecting a horizontal parallel beam X along the threads A between the front rollers B, C and the guide or top board D. The lamp casing may be provided with a reflector and lenses, and colour filters may be used. Light intensity may be controlled through a transformer. The Provisional Specification describes a modification in which a light source is located centrally on the frame and may be adapted to project two beams.
