Abstract

585,540. Collapsable vehicles. GLOVER, A. E. Feb. 27, 1945, No. 4839. [Class 108 (i)] A truck, to carry trays &c. or a bier, comprises corner posts 6 mounted on castor wheels 15 joined by lattice sides and ends 9, 8 respectively and maintained in the open position by pivoted braces 10 connected to lugs 9b on the posts and to central means 12 which locks the braces in their extended position. The upper ends of the corner posts are provided with plugs with spigots adapted to enter holes in front and end transverse bars 17 to support the load. Sleeves 7 are mounted on the posts 6 and are provided with lugs 7a to receive the ends of the lattice which may be cranked at 8a, 9a to permit the lattice to collapse in a plane. The braces 10 are pivoted to the flattened ends 11a, Fig. 3, of a tube 11 which can rotate in the member 12 and a plate 13 attached to the member 12 is flanged' at 13a, the flanges being gapped to receive and lock the braces when the centrepiece 12 is pressed down to lock the structure. The truck is collapsed by removing the ends 17 and lifting the central member 12,
