Abstract
A process for the recovery of the solid material present in an alcoholic wort obtained by degradation and fermentation of amylaceous materials consists essentially in separating the solid material present in the wort from the wort liquor before subjecting the latter to distillation. In a preferred method, the wort is filtered through rotating or reciprocating strainers fitted with metallic gauzes and the separated solid matter is systematically washed in an apparatus formed by several Collette diffusion elements. The resultant washings are added to the initial filtrate and the blend distilled to obtain the alcohol contained therein.ALSO:A process for the recovery of the solid material present in an alcoholic wort obtained by degradation and fermentation of amylaceous materials consists essentially in separating the solid material present in the wort from the wort liquor before subjecting the latter to distillation. In a preferred method, the wort is filtered through rotating or reciprocating strainers fitted with metallic gauzes and the separated solid matter is systematically washed in an apparatus formed by several Collette diffusion elements. It is then pressed in a Colin type continuous press and the cake used as fodder for animals. The resultant washings are added to the initial filtrate and the blend distilled to obtain the alcohol contained therein.
