Abstract

582,072. Toys. POLLARD, M. E., and BELL CONSTRUCTION, Ltd. July 25, 1944, No. 14198. [Class 132 (iii)] [Also in Group XXV] A toy comprising a combination of a representation of an object 1 with a known resilient suction cup 2 is capable of adhering to a supporting surface. The representation is pivotally attached at or near its centre of gravity to the suction cup 2 by co-operating press stud and press cap elements 3, 4 secured one to each, the element secured to the suction cup being embedded in the material 6 without piercing the suction surface. In order that the suction cup may adhere to uneven surfaces the lips 8 may be made of soft pliant rubber or the lips 8 may be treated after manufacture with a rubber solution to create tackiness. Larger representations may have one or more additional suction cups attached. If it is desired to give a sterioscopic effect with flat representations, e.g., to give the effect of a horse 11 standing behind a gate 10, the gate may be attached to the supporting. surface by means of a conical suction cup 2a of greater depth than that 2b applied to the horse. According to the Provisional Specification, the means for securing the suction cup to the representation may be in the form of a stud integral with the former co-operating with a perforation in the latter.
