Abstract

581,653. Shelf-retaining fronts. FINER, H. J. Sept. 29, 1944, No. 18705. [Class 52 (i)] A retaining front for shelving comprises sheet metal members having a cross-section as shown in Fig. 2, which are assembled by the lower limbs 1c, 6, 3 of one embracing the upper limbs 4. 7, 1a of another. The ends of the lower limbs 3, 6 are cut away, Fig. 1, so that new members can be added to increase the height of the front without removal of the existing front. The lower limb 6 of each member is out of line with the upper limb 7, so that on assembly the fronts of all the limbs 6 lie in the same plane. A downwardly-extending portion 9 is provided to give increased strength. A modified form of the invention is shown in Fig. 4.
