Abstract

581,596. Condensers. LEVKOVITSCH, P. GOUDIME-, and SMITH, S. J. Feb. 7, 1945, Nos. 3072/45 and 239/46. [Class 37] [Also in Group XXXVIII] A condenser used to indicate changes of liquid level, (see Group XXXVIII) has two spaced flexible electrodes insulated from one another so that it can be folded up or bent for use in a fuel tank of the flexible bag type. Fig. 2 shows a condenser having a central flexible conductor 15 having thimble shaped spacing members 16 of insulating material threaded on it and an outer conductor 17 consisting of a metal braiding. Fig. 5 shows a condenser in the form of a flexible mat having flexible conductors 25 arranged as a warp and woven together by a weft of insulating material 26, alternate conductors being connected to form two groups constituting the two electrodes. Another form, Fig. 7 (not shown), comprises flexible conductors insulated from one another by spacing members extending along the length of the conductors and formed with grooves to receive their ends.
