581,521. Stretching and drying skins. STEPHENS, C. May 12, 1944, No. 9142. [Class 76] Hides and skins are strained and finished by coating one side with mucilage or adhesive (e.g., by spraying) and slickering on to a highly polished and hard regular surface presented by or formed on a board or sheet (other than a glass sheet) composed of the same material throughout, drying or allowing to dry, and then applying finishing material to the hide still on the board. The board may be flat or curved, and the surface should be waterproof. Suitable boards are made of synthetic resin, fibre board, hair board, asbestos composition, aluminium or aluminium alloy, stainless steel, and enamelled metal. The materials known under the Registered Trade Marks "Duralumin" and "Monel" metal may be used. The use of glass is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
