Abstract
579,658. Projectile fuze-setters. HARVEY, V. P., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Aug. 12, 1943, No. 13090. [Class 9 (i)] The clutch device described in Specification 578,330 for locking the fuze-engaging member of a fuze-setting apparatus to an adjustable stop controlled, e.g. by a follow-the-pointer hand wheel, is modified in that the separate catch-pawl 40 of the prior Specification is omitted, a recess 104, Fig. 3, being provided adjacent the stop 4 in the adjustable wheel 42, into which the arm 5 of the driving-pawl on the fuze-engaging member is deflected by the stop 4 to de-clutch the fuze-engaging member from its driving disc 31, Fig. 5, and simultaneously to lock it to the adjustable stop 4. The driving-pawl 36 to which the arm .5 is rigidly secured has an arcuate surface which rides on the driving disc 31 when the stop 4 de-clutches the fuze-engaging member, the arm 5 being thereby prevented from leaving the recess 104 until reverse movement of the driving disc 31 takes place to return the fuzeengaging member to zero position.
