Abstract
579,317. Resonators; discharge apparatus. PEARCE, A. F. Feb. 13, 1942, No. 1918. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] In a resonator for use in a velocity modulated discharge tube or for other purposes, the tuning is effected by a strip 12 in contact with the outer rigid wall 11 of the resonator. The strip is either a flexible spring whose ends slide on the resonator wall or has corrugated ends 16 connected to the wall. The strip is adjusted by a screw j and nut gear 15. Insulating material may be interposed between the strip and the resonator wall, so as to give a merely capacitative connection.
