578,056. Wallpaper. TRIMZ CO., Inc. April 5, 1944, Nos. 6334 and 6335. Convention dates, April 2, 1943. Drawings to Specification. [Class 20 (iv)] Wallpaper strip 12ins. or more wide with a decorative surface protected by a coating of a water-resistant material on one side and a water moistenable adhesive coating on the other is rolled with the adhesive surface facing inwardly. To apply a strip cut to size it is rolled in this way with the top end of the piece forming the core of the roll which is submerged in cool water, and then unrolled and re-rolled still under water with the adhesive surface again inward but with the top end exposed as the outer edge. As the paper is applied to the wall the roll, which may be supported in one hand, acts as a spacer between the wall and the adhesive coating. Markings showing unit lengths may be made on a selvedge or the. back and if numbered consecutively starting from the centre of the roll, indicate the unused length of a roll.
