Abstract

577,732. Loose-leaf binders. GILBERT & SONS, Ltd., A., and GILBERT, A. Aug. 21, 1944, No. 15925. [Class 146 (i)] In a loose-leaf post binder each binding post is attached tc one of the binding bars by an end section or stud which is rotatably and captively carried by the bar. As shown, the covers 2, 3 are fixed to binding bars 15, 4. In the upper binding bar 4 is non-rotatably re cessed a nut 6, internally screwthreaded to receive the threadec spigot 7 of the uppermost section of the binding post carrying a washer 12. The lower binding bar 15 houses a stud 16 which has a flat head 17 slotted for a screw-driver or the like, and screw-threaded to engage the hollow internally screw-threaded part of the lowermost section of the binding post. A flange 18 of greater diameter than the aperture 20 is recessed into the binding bar to retain the head 17. In a modification, the head 17 is of greater diameter than the binding post and the flange is omitted.
