Abstract

577,686. Keys. STERNER, B. May 10, 1944, No. 8941. [Class 44] A key consisting of a holder in which a number of bits of different lengths are permanently secured comprises a sleeve 7 which surrounds the holder and the ends of the bits. The bits 4 of any desired length are fitted in grooves 3 on each side of the holder 1 and have recesses engaged by lugs 6 on the holder. The sleeve is held on the holder by resilient ears and engaging recesses in the holder. The handle 2 of the key is curved to facilitate correct insertion in the lock by the feel of the key. Specification 519,739 is referred to.
