Abstract
576,608. Contact-members for switches. ERICSSON TELEPHONES, Ltd., and CROWE, D. C. Aug. 8, 1944, No. 15026. [Class 38 (v)] A contact spring for use in an electromagnetic relay, switching-key, or automatic telephone selector, comprises two substantially rigid members 1, 2 joined by a resilient member 3, member 2 preferably carrying two contacts 7a, 7b. The resilient member 3 presses the members 1, 2 against insulating plates 4, 5 to which member 1 is fixed by insulating pin 6, and may be attached either as shown in Fig. 1, or it may have its rear end attached to the movable member 2 and its front end to the fixed member 1, Fig. 2 (not shown). The members 1, 2, 3 may be riveted or welded together or may consist of one or more integral parts. Three contact springs may be inserted into an insulating housing 8, Fig. 3, the members 1 being widened to fit in grooves 10. The lowest spring is inverted and the middle member 2 is lengthened to receive an operating stud 11. To ensure even distribution of pressure between the contacts 7a, 7b, the rear ends of the members 2 are rounded to permit slight lateral movement.
