574,912. Hoods. BENSON, J. J. G., and HOWE, H. Sept. 24, 1943, No. 15662. [Class 108 (i)] Hoods for perambulators and other vehicles are made in two portions pivoted about a common axis, the main portion 1 being capable of being turned counter-clockwise into a curved recess formed for it in the vehicle body, and the other portion 2, which can serve as a front or windscreen, being capable of being turned into a special recess for it in the body or of being turned so as either to be contained within the main hood portion 1 or within the body recess provided for the latter. A spring fastening bolt 4, Sheet 3, for hood portion 1 passes through an aperture in a metal strip 6 medial of the hood into a socket 5 on the body and is withdrawn by a wire release. The windscreen portion 2 is turned into its bodyrecess by pinion 8 acting on a rack carried by the windscreen, a return-spring 10 being extended at the same time.
