Abstract

<PICT:0573819/IV/1> Gasolines of low olefine content are obtained by the catalytic conversion of heavy oils in a first reaction zone under conditions giving a gasoline rich in olefines which are further treated in a second reaction zone to reduce their olefine content, the reaction conditions being controlled while the catalysts are regenerated in a common regeneration zone in which dense phase conditions also are maintained so that the catalysts in each zone are maintained in the dense phase. Kerosene, gas, oil, reduced crude &c. is supplied through line 1 and passed through heating coil 6 to line 10 where it is mixed with hot regenerated catalyst and the mixture fed into base of reactor 11 maintained at 480-595 DEG C., a weight-space velocity of 0.2 to 4 being maintained in the dense phase zone. The converted vapours pass off through separator 13 to fractionator 17, from which gasoline is recovered overhead and passed through condenser 22 to receiver 25. The gasoline is then fed through line 33, heating coil 38 into line 41 where it is mixed with catalyst and passed through converter 42 maintained at about 370 DEG C. The gasoline stock may be mixed with a separate stock fed through line 28. The used catalysts from both reactors are removed through conduits 67, 83 to a common regenerator 68 where carbonaceous deposits are burnt off by contact with oxidizing gases, the regenerated catalysts being returned to the respective reactors through conduits 10, 41.
