Abstract

573,675. Current collectors. MOSSAY, P. A. H. Oct. 28, 1943, No. 17814. [Class 38 (i)] Connection to the rotor leads 30 of an induction regulator or the like is effected by pairs of conducting strips 14 carried by a stationary part 4 of the regulator and co-operating pairs of strips 7 which are carried by a support 11 mounted on and rotating with the shaft 1 of the regulator, the inner ends of the strips 7, 14 being interleaved and making rubbing contact under the action of a compression spring 18 mounted on an insulated rod 9 passing through both sets of strips. The outer ends of strips 7, 14 are mounted on insulated rods 10, 15, respectively, carried by supports 11, 16. The strips of the different sets are spaced from one another by insulating bushings 8 and asbestos washers 26 and are maintained in position by the compression springs 18. Support 16 is provided with stops which determine the permissible angular movement of support 11.
