Abstract

A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape comprises a rubber-resin adhesive bonded to a backing of glue-impregnated paper by means of a priming coat deposited from an aqueous dispersion of reclaimed rubber which may contain glue or resin, or a tanning agent, such as formalin, for the glue already contained in the paper backing. The resin may be a highly polymerized terpene dispersed in water with the aid of casein or glue before mixing with the reclaimed rubber dispersion.ALSO:A pressure sensitive adhesive tape comprises a rubber-resin adhesive bonded to a backing of glue-impregnated paper by means of a priming coat deposited from an aqueous dispersion of reclaimed rubber which may contain glue or resin, or a tanning agent, such as formalin, for the glue already contained in the paper backing. The resin may be a highly-polymerized terpene dispersed in water with the aid of casein or glue before mixing with the reclaimed rubber dispersion.
