Abstract
568,406. Lamp shades. WAITE & SON, Ltd., and WAITE, H. C. Dec. 13, 1943, No. 20865. [Class 75 (ii)] A lamp shade of cellulosic material consists of a shaped body portion integrally united with top and bottom frame elements shaped to conform to the top and bottom edges of the body portion. Figs. 2 and 4 show a shade body consisting of four thin panels a<1> of cellulosic material adhesively united along their edges a2 and then united to the grooved beaded edges bl of.top and bottom frame elements b. The body and frame elements may be of cellulose acetate and they may be united by high frequency welding or by coating the contacting surfaces with a solvent such as acetone and applying pressure. In another construction the body is formed with flanges clamped to the frame elements by rings rendered adhesive by the application of a solvent.
