Abstract
568,089. Children's vehicles. COLE & CO., Ltd., W. H., and HOLDER, E. T. April 8, 1943, No. 992/45. Divided out of 568,040. [Class 136 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXII] In a vehicle for children simulating in miniature a motor car and having an auxiliary handle by which it may be propelled by a person other than the occupant, the handle is of U-shape and when in the inoperative position its closed end is concealed in the bonnet of the vehicle while its side members extend along the sides of the vehicle to simulate exhaust pipes. As shown, the ends 11 of the handle 10 pivot on pins 1, each carried on a vertical bar 12 riveted to a chassis member and to the sheet metal body 3, the handle, when in propelling position, engaging stops formed by projections 14 from the shorter arms 13b of members 13 fixed between the bars 12 and the chassis. The bonnet comprises a hinged lid 16 which, when open, allows the handle cross-bar 17 to fit within slots 18 in the side walls, so that when the lid is closed the side members of the handle simulate the exhaust pipes of a.racing car.
