Abstract
567,849. Cleaning device for personal use. TRIADOU, C. A. M. June 1, 1943, No. 8760. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1942. [Class 81 (ii)] A cleaning device for the intimate and private hygiene of the person, to be used in combination with a w.c., comprises a water-mixing mechanism, adapted for connection to supplies of cold and hot water and a flexible pipe leading from the outlet thereof to a hollow block, having an inclined side-face, whereby water may be sprayed &c. on the person to effect cleaning. Cold and hot water is supplied to an automatically and thermostatically controlled chamber 20 through pipes 21, 22, each of which may be separately controlled by a valve 23. From the mixing chamber 20 the water flows through an outlet 24, governed by a spring-biassed valve operated by the weight of the cleaning block C through a pivoted lever 40. The flexible pipe 51 is connected to a pipe 57, about which is positioned the handle portion 58, the flow of water through the block 55 being governed by a spring-biassed finger-manipulated valve 66. A threaded disc . 78 is screwed into the sloping face 74 of the block 75, holes extruding through the disc 78 to effect distribution of the cleaning fluid. In a modification automatic mixing in the chamber 20 is replaced by manual mixing, and the outflow of water from the mixing tank is governed by a manually-operated valve. In this instance, the valve may be omitted from the block 55.
