Abstract
567,362. Stockings. KAUFMAN, C. A. Nov. 2, 1942, No. 15401. Convention date, Oct. 1., 1941. [Class 74 (ii)] The toe of a full-fashioned stocking is knitted so that the seam closing the tip extends vertically and centrally of the toe and forms a continuation of the seam closing the foot bottom. In one form, the toe comprises two selvedge sections C, two intermediate sections E and a central section D. Each of the sections C, D terminates in a point X, Z, and the ends F of the sections E constitute the seam 40, closing the tip of the toe. Alternatively, the intermediate sections may be omitted, and the selvedge sections provide ends similar to the ends F to form the seam. In other forms, neither the centre or selvedge sections end in points, the tip-closing seam being formed of the ends of these sections. The intermediate sections may in these forms terminate in a point.
