Abstract

Abrasive articles such as periphery and cup grinding wheels and dental drills are produced by partially embedding a single layer of diamonds to a soft metal backing, for instance of copper, aluminium, or German silver, and then plating on a layer of a harder metal such as nickel to hold them in place. The diamonds are disposed in a grid pattern by the aid of fabric or felt, as described in Specification 563,090. Specification 398,703 also is referred to.
