515,775. Grinding. RAE, F. Y. July 1, 1938, No. 19507. [Class 60] Granite or other stone in a dull-finished state is polished with the aid of powder by means of a wheel having a soft-metal operating-face. The wheel may also be employed for dull-finishing granite &c. from which the tool-marks have been removed. The figure shows a wheel consisting of a wooden disc a having secured thereto, preferably by copper nails, rings b and strips d of soft' metal such as lead or tin. In another form of wheel, the soft-metal strips are arranged tangentially to a small circle co-axial with the wheel, and are surrounded by a felt ring.
