562,800. Filters. THOMSON, G. S. Jan. 26, 1943, No. 1285. [Class 46] A filtering device for testing milk comprises a container 3, a detachable outlet member 18 holding a filter element 19, a closure member 6 which may be hermetically sealed, and provision for setting up airpressure within the container. The outlet 18 may be hinged or secured bv a bayonet - slot arrangement to the container and encloses the filter paper, a perforated plate 20 and sealing washer 21. The lid 6 is hinged to the container and separated from an inner plate 8 by an expansible washer 11. An extension 12 from the plate 8 passes through the plate 6, has a central passage leading from a bulb &c, 16, and has pivoted thereon a cam which may be operated by depressing a handle 13 to expand the washer 11 against the wall of the container 3.
