[Class 6 (i)] A distributing device for agricultural machines comprises a hopper having separate compartments for seeds or the like and fertilizer, a tray movably mounted on the hopper for receiving both the seed or the like and the fertilizer, and means for imparting movements to the tray so that regulated amounts of its contents are jerked therefrom. The hopper 53 shown is carried by frame members. 50, 51, extending from the hub bf a press wheel 39, and comprises two compartments, one for seed and one for fertilizer, arranged with their outlets above a pivoted tray 80. The quantities discharged into the tray are regulated by outlet tubes, such as 75, carried by vertically adjustable arms 76, the quantities released being determined by the distance between the outlets of the tubes and the trays. The tray is divided lengthwise by a wall to provide two separate cempartments for the different materials, and upstanding walls of different heights are provided on the outlet edges of these compartments to give the correct discharge into a shoot 113 when the tray is oscillated. Oscillation of the tray is effected by a rod 103 connected to a rocking shaft 97 mounted in bearings on the rear wall of the hopper. A lever 96 connected to this shaft is struck intermittently by pins 95 on wheel 39 and oscillates between two stops 110, 112, formed on a plate 111 secured to the hopper. A spring 107 connected to a pin 100 at the end of an arm 99 on the shaft 97 serves to return the lever 96 suddenly against the stop 110 when a pin 95 disengages the arm 96, and the sudden stopping of the swinging tray thus resulting causes a portion of the materials in it. to discharge into the shoot 113. The latter is pivotally mounted and may be raised to an inoperative position by pulling on a cable 123 connected thereto, the cable being connected to one arm of a spring-controlled two-armed lever 115, the other arm of which is actuated by a second cable 120 leading to an operating lever. The cable 123 may also serve to raise the lever 96 to a position clear of the pins 95 and also to lift a flap 125 for closing the outlet mouth of the tray.
