Abstract

560,824. Calcium hydrate. KNIBBS, N.V.S. Aug. 28, 1942, No. 12170. [Class 1 (iii)] Calcium hydrate, wholly or mainly consisting of the unexpanded form, is produced by fully hydrating lime at a temperature which during the whole or major part of the hydration is between 100‹ C. and the dissociation temperature of the hydrate and grinding the hydrate after or in the course of the reaction. The reaction may be initiated with steam and completed with water and may be carried out in counter flow. Specification 245,935, [Class 1 (iii)], is referred to.
