Abstract

558,818. Wireless signalling. REDIFFUSION, Ltd., and RINGHAM, G. B. July 17, 1942, No. 9941. [Class 40 (v)] The antenna 9 is mounted on the container 12 of a base loading coil 10, the container being removably mounted on the combined transmitter and receiver 8 in such a way that it can be attached in at least two different positions, Fig. 1 (not shown), and Fig. 2 (not shown). The container 12, Fig. 3, for the loading coil 10, carries a metal socket 16 for receiving the lower end of the antenna. The lower end of the container 12 carries flanges 18 which in two positions, engage beneath the heads of pins 19 secured to a dished metal plate 13 mounted on the side wall 8 of the combined transmitter and receiver. A contact pin connected to the lower end of the coil 10 makes contact with a spring-pressed contact connected to the transmitter &c. in each position of the container.
