Abstract

558,782. Plywood. FIDDES, J. June 15, 1942, No. 8192. [Class 145 (ii)] Relates to plywood of the kind comprising layers 1, 2 of thin narrow boards with an interlayer 3 of thin metal or other waterproof material, the layers being secured together by stapling, nailing, or like means. According to the invention, the interlayer 3 extends beyond the sides and edges of the layers 1, 2 so that the projecting ends may be used to form a flexible connecting link when making packing cases or crates. Preferably the interlayer consists of sheet iron which may be coated with suitable material to render it rustproof. Specifications 553,687 and 557,170, [Group XVII], are referred to.
