[Class 60] A device for supporting a diamond in a dop comprises a pair of pivoted arms D mounted in a holder C carried by an arm O, the arms D being adjustable by separate screws K preferably with an over-run device which, as shown, comprises a spring pawl L engaging a ratchet K<SP>2</SP>. The arms D are pressed apart by a spring J and have sloping faces to engage the diamond B.
