[Class 2 (ii)] [Also in Groups VIII and XIII] Non-fluctuating direct current as from a Daniel cell is applied to the walls of a digester to flow through them and proportionally through the contents, i.e. raw vegetable material, to aid the digestion. The digester may also be given an induced electric charge from another cell connected to a coil or a metal band surrounding the digester wall.
