[Class 2 (iii)] [Also in Group XX] 1 - Phenyl - 3 - hydroxy - 5 - phenylinzino - pyrazolone is prepared by refluxing a mixture of 1 - phenyl - 3 - hydroxy - 5 - iminopyrazolone and aniline, cooling, diluting with chloroform, cooling, and filtering. 1 - Phenyl - 3 - hydroxy - 5 - p - anisyliminopyrazolone, 1 - phenyl - 3 - hydroxy - 5 - p - aminosulphophenylimino - pyrazolone, and 1 - phenyl - 3 - hydroxy - 5 - p - (p<SP>1</SP> - tert. - amylphenoxy) - phenylimino - pyrazolone also used as couplers in colour photography are similarly prepared.
