[Class 70] Sheets for insulating pruposes for making commutators, &c. prepared by bonding mica flakes or fragments with shellac, copal, alkyd resins, &c. are sanded or otherwise finished to get uniform thickness and given a surface treatment with a solution of a methacrylate resin and are hot pressed to get a smooth surface. The solution may consist of methyl methacrylate resin with a lubricant such as montan wax and a solvent such as toluol.
