Abstract
550,810. Rotary drying drums. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN. Aug. 11, 1941, No. 10192. Convention date, Aug. 12, 1940. [Class 34 (ii)] In a rotary drying drum, suitable for cattle fodder, of the kind in which the periphery of the drum consists of spaced laminations through which air passes radially into and out of the drum, the laminae consists of bent metal sheets with five angularly arranged sections 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2f. The outer section 2a is such that its extension a would pass through the drum axis, and it prevents loss of the material being dried. The section 2b lies in the periphery of the drum. The section 2c is such that its extension c is tangential to a circle of less diameter than the circle touching the inner edges of the laminae. The section 2d is such that its extension d is tangential to a circle of greater diameter than the drum interior. The section 2f is such that its extension f is tangential to a circle of less diameter than the drum interior. The sections of the laminae may be curved, or may be separated from one another.
