Abstract
549,561. Electric conductors. SILBERRAD, O. Aug. 22, 1941, No. 10735. [Class 36] An electric conductor is provided with an insulating sleeving comprising an inner layer of thermoplastic material, such as polyvinyl chloride, reinforced externally by a layer of cotton, silk or regenerated cellulose braiding, a solution of the thermoplastic material being applied to the braiding to fix the latter to the inner layer. Further coatings of solution, preferably more highly concentrated than the first one, may be applied to build up an external layer of thermoplastic material. Ketones such as mesityloxide or methylcyclohexanone, alone or with other materials, may be used as solvents for the thermoplastic material.
