Abstract
548,426. Scoring-apparatus for games. TOWNS, P. F. July 1, 1941, No. 8260. [Class 132 (ii)] In a scoring-apparatus for darts, billiards &c. wherein three concentric number discs 2, 3, 4 are rotated respectively by a knob 19 and finger holes 20, 21 in order to display the score at windows 13, 14, the discs are supported upon a central axle fixed to the back of the casing so as to be clear of the casing. Blade springs 23, 25 engaging respectively the finger holes 20 and holes 28 apply friction to retain the units and tens discs in set position. The discs may be independently adjusted, and transfer mechanism may be provided between the discs. As shown, where the discs 3 and 4 are each marked with two series of numerals 0 .. 9, the transfer from the units disc 4 to the tens disc 3 may be effected by two spring-pressed catches 30, 31, slidable on the units disc by a fixed cam 29 so as to engage the finger holes in the tens disc 3 at the appropriate carry-over points. A similar transfer mechanism may be arranged between the tens disc 3 and the hundreds disc 2.
