Abstract

[Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A wiring system having units connected in series has some or all of the units 20a provided with a well 38 in which the conductors 28' are exposed, the top of the well being closed by a blank cover, or by a plate carrying an outlet socket or a switch with its contacts in engagement with the conductors 28<SP>1</SP>. In the case of a switch 70, Fig. 12, one or both of the conductors is cut away to form a gap which is bridged by the switch arm 74 which closes on to contacts 72 carrying spring blades 76 that engage the conductor on each side of the gap. In the case of an outlet socket, two pairs of plug receiving slots 62, Fig. 9, are provided, each double contact plate 56 having two spring blades 64 so as to form a bridging link if the conductor 28<SP>1</SP> has been gapped for use with a switch.
