547,910. Hormones. SOCIETY OF CHEMICAL INDUSTRY IN BASLE. Jan. 17, 1941, No. 665. Convention date, Jan. 18, 1940. [Class 81 (i)] Gonadotropic hormones of the pituitary gland are concentrated by treating a solution of the hormone with a strong acid albumen-precipitant (other than a phenolic polynitro compound), e.g. sulphosalicylic or trichloracetic acid, separating the precipitate, removing excess of acid from the solution and precipitating the hormone by the addition of a phenolic polynitro compound such as picric or picrolonic acid and separating the hormone from the precipitant in known manner.
