[Class 44] A case for a lock or latch is made of two or more parts 1, 2 fitting together in or parallel to the main plane of the case, and without the usual extended faceplate, so that it can be used in four waysleft reverse, right reverse, lefthand, and right-hand. Each part has tapped projections 8, 9, 18, 19 out of register with those on the opposite part and adapted to receive screws inserted through holes 21 in the opposite part. The case is fixed to a door by screws inserted through registering holes 22 in the parts 1, 2. In other forms, the case consists of a rim engaged by two plates.
